About Us
Over 100 Years in the Making
More than a century ago, a young Anton Krauss left Germany for America — not empty-handed, but carrying four generations of butchery knowledge as a master butcher, old-world sausage-making craft, and an uncompromising standard for quality. He settled in Germantown, Wisconsin, where alongside his master sausage-making friend Gottlob Steffan, he built the Krauss Food Ranch into a name the community trusted and loved.
When Anton passed in 1976, the shop closed. The sausages, the craftsmanship, the Krauss name — they faded into memory. But not forever.

The Craft Comes Home
Nearly 50 years later, Anton's grandson Kevin Krauss — a 6th generation sausage maker and jerky master — is bringing it all back. Same old-world artistry. Same uncompromising quality. Now with Unapologetic Beef Jerky and handcrafted meat snacks built for people who don't settle.

A Family Affair
The Krauss legacy has always been a family story, and that's truer today than ever. Kevin's wife Missy has taken the helm on an entirely new chapter — a line of small-batch roasted nut snacks and proprietary spice blends inspired by the bold flavors of our jerky and sausage recipes. Every blend is crafted with the same obsession for quality that Anton brought to Wisconsin over a century ago.
It felt destined to happen on the 100th anniversary of Anton's vision — and now, we're just getting started. As the old Krauss Food Ranch ads once read: "Always top quality since 1923." It was then. It is now. It always will be.
From our family to yours — Enjoy!
